Augustinian Renaissance in Theology

Our program is aimed at anyone - from mothers and mechanics to painters and pastors - desiring deeper integration in their walk with Christ. Our learning pedagogy centers on the conviction that all should have access to theological education and draws on the rich tradition of Christian catechism. We are seeking to cultivate an Augustinian Renaissance in Theology (ART) which sees the heart, the seat of our desire, as at least as important as the mind and intellect in pursuit of God. We believe the completion of our program will result in people becoming heralds of this renaissance in their lives, local churches, and society, making the world a better place.

Program Pathways

We have been running the program from Nashville, TN for the last couple of years. This year, we are launching an online option for the program, specifically designed for those in Europe, but open to participants from all over the world. You can find out more here.

In addition to our one-year program running both online and in Nashville, we are also launching a three-year option for the program in partnership with two other organizations which will result in college credit and the opportunity to join a Masters in Theology program at the end. Find out more below.

Certificate in Theological Discipleship

The completion of our one-year program results in receiving a Certificate in Theological Discipleship. This program is designed to grade for formation, not accreditation. The assessments are crafted to engage your heart and form your imagination to come to know God more fully. You can find more information below.

Modules

Integration Groups

As we learn, who are we becoming? Participants will be placed into an integration group. This is where learning and life come together. Each week, groups will discuss the modules, personal study plan, and a chapter from the integration group handbook. This book draws on devotional writing from throughout the history of the Church and across denominational lines.

Personal study

There is a personal study plan which runs through the whole year and provides a rich Christian literature.  Participants will engage with authors from biblical times to today and from a wide range of theological perspectives.  Over the year, critical thinking will become paired with devotional reading to provide a head and heart approach to build upon in the months and years ahead.
